If you get married, you definitely need to consider how your and\/or your spouse\u2019s loans will affect the other with regard to taxes and in the event of a divorce.\u00a0 If you or your spouse have student loans and you are enrolled in the Revised Pay As You Earn plan, your monthly loan payment will increase, because the plan bases your payment off of your combined adjusted gross income.\u00a0 If you incurred the debt before the marriage, that\u2019s your responsibility to pay off (and the same goes for your spouse). \u00a0\u00a0But, if the debt was acquired post-marriage, things \u201cget murkier.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
